Fund raising night at the Sulby Glen Hotel: Monday 25th August

By 9.00pm the Sulby Glen Hotel Hotel and Marquee were full of supporters of Road racing on the Isle of Man. What A fantastic turnout.  One of the first to arrive was Brian Spooner who had been asked to smash open one of the three collecting bottles that has stood on the Bar of the Sulby Glen Hotel.

The evening started with David Cretney MHK welcoming everyone to the Marquee at the Glen and giving them a run down on the evenings events. Explaining that “Bill Snelling” had very kindly given some of his very rare Footage never been seen before, of various T.T. These would be shown through out the evening on the screens at top end of the Marquee. At the front of the Marquee a generous buffet supper was provided for those who attended, donations for this collected in the Supporters Club Buckets. Many Riders had donated photos, prints, a leather jacket, boxes of tools, and even a pair of Motor Cycle boots and Helmets could be found up for Auction. The Raffle table was cramped with ;prizes once again donated by fans of Road Racing and supporters of the MGP.

During the evening two cheques were presented, one for £5,178.17 and the other for £637.40. The first cheque was presented to the Supporters Club by Rosie and her 7 other companions who recently completed a 14.000ft sky Dive for the Club. A video of the event was shown to let everyone know at what point they went from scared to terrified, however everyone agreed they would do it again, so it must have been fun. !!!!

The second cheque was presented to Sam Dunlop on behalf of the “Dunlop -the next generation” MCC. This was sponsorship to help Sam William and Michael with their racing and was from the Sale of “Dunlop Draught” a unique draught Beer only available at the Sulby Glen Hotel, who ;have pledged part of the profits to the Dunlop Sons.
