The Manx Motor Cycle Club is delighted to announce that Phil Taubman, an MMCC Director, has been honoured with an MBE in the 2017 New Year’s Honours List for Services to Motorcycle Sport and to the Manx community.
MMCC Chairman Harvey Garton said:
“Phil has dedicated over 60 years to road racing on the Isle of Man on the Billown Course and the TT Course with the Manx Grand Prix, TT and Classic TT. He was Clerk of the Course for the MGP from 2008-2015 and Deputy Clerk of the Course for the TT 2008-2009 where he successfully used his depth of knowledge and many years’ experience at these iconic events. The MMCC believes that Phil truly deserves the recognition he has been given for his huge contribution to motorcycle sport.”
Phil has also been actively been involved as an official in all Billown races since 1955 and has held the position of Chairman for Southern 100 Racing for the last sixteen years.
His enthusiasm and enjoyment of all motorcycle racing is still evident and he will continue to be actively involved.
