The Regency
Travel Manx Grand Prix Challenge which took place
over the weekend at Cadwell Park turned into a two rider affair
between Simon Gardner and Richard Green. The final decision, with
each rider trying to rack up the maximum number of points over
the weekend went right down to the wire. The prize of two Aer
Arran return flights and accommodation during
the 2009 Manx Grand Prix eventually went to Simon Gardner from
Brighton. He road his R6 Yamaha to 3 straight wins and 4 fastest
laps. On the deciding race a problem saw Gardner having to start
from the back of the grid, battling his way through the field
to a brilliant second place, just enough to give him the verdict
over Green. Simon, who has been racing for three years, was absolutely
thrilled with the prize and the prospect of making his first visit
to the Isle of Man in September. He thanked all the members of
his hard working family team and Regency
Travel for their generosity
in putting the prize up.
The Manx Motor Cycle Club would like
to thank BEMSEE,
particularly their Chief Executive Officer, Mike Dommett for
being such excellent hosts and providing us with the opportunity to
talk to so many of their riders. The Club also acknowledges the support
of the TT Marshals Association in this venture.
