The Manx Motor Cycle Club is very saddened to learn of the tragic death of former MGP rider, and popular TT rider, James Cowton whilst competing at the S100.
Winner of the 2012 Newcomers C Race and 4th in the Junior that year James competed in the 2013 Junior Race, but ran out of fuel at the Nook whilst leading the race by 16 seconds.
Club Chairman, Peter Maddocks said “James was a very well respected young man in the paddock and will be greatly missed. Since competing so successfully in the Manx and moving to the TT we have followed his career with great interest.
Our thoughts also go out to the other riders injured in the incident, Ivan Lintin, Jamie Coward and Mikey Evans, the officials of the S100 together with all the marshals and medics who attended the scene.”
