Andy Lawson

Andy Lawson, with his father and mechanic, at the MMCC annual dinner

The Manx Motor Cycle Club Committee and members would like to express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Andy Lawson who sadly lost his life whilst competing at the Ulster Grand Prix on Saturday.

Andy first raced in the Manx Grand Prix in 2009 when he finished 2nd in Newcomers C Race and 15th in the Ultra Lightweight Race on a 650 Suzuki.  Returning again in 2012 Andy was 9th in the Senior MGP.  A podium position in the 2013 Junior MGP was followed by reaching the top step in 2014 when he won the Junior Race.

Competing in this year’s TT Andy certainly made his mark achieving a lap of 125mph in the Superbike Race.

A keen supporter of the Manx Grand Prix, Andy will be sadly missed by all those involved in the MGP and all racing in the Isle of Man where he was due to compete in the forthcoming Classic TT.
