Biography

I am now living in the beautiful Fingers Lake area about 250 miles from New York City, United States of America. Married to the local school principal. Brought with me some of my classic bike collection. A 1957 Square Four, 1960 Norton Dominator, a 1972 BMW "Special" and a Triumph Trials bike which I used in a "British Trial" here recently. But... it was the only Brit. bike there! Also have 5 more bikes here. Lots of Harley's here.. Hmmm. Put in the fastest lap in practice for the 77 MGP, it was my first ride on a TZ and knew little about them. I altered jets and ignition for the race. This will live with me forever as it lost 20 m.p.h. in top speed on race day, MY mistake, finished 10th with my chain jumping the sprockets on the last lap. Happy days. Did TT 2 years later on my little home built Suzuki. It handled great, was reliable but oh so slow. However it was the 3rd 250 machine to finish the Formula 3-world championship race. We had to race against 400cc 4 stokes though. In my time I raced 250's, 350's, 500's, 750's, Production, Formula 3 and Vintage on Ariel's and a Velocette. Started on a Norton Atlas, then rode the other Jim Lee Commando on which I had some wins on northern circuits. Mick Grant rode the other one. I once hit the monument at Scarborough (literally) as I slid across the grass trying to catch Mick up in practice. If any of the guys I raced against are in my area over here, call me up.
